Ola,

my name is João Francisco and I was born in 1963 in Switzerland.

 

As a child I have discovered the joy of playing the piano which later led to my studying music at the School of Music in Berne. This also resulted in an increased interest in visual arts in general.

 

Gradually it was painting that became the focus of my passion.

I created my first paintings in acrylics in 2008, making use of a space in an old watch factory. I have never hesitated to integrate a variety of different materials into my works.

 

In 2021 I emigrated to Portugal. Since then the many new impressions and influences are mirrored in my works. Collecting flotsam, shells etc. on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean adds to the range of materials used in my works.
